Jean-Yves Foucault – Chairman

Chairman of the Co-operative

A farmer and livestock breeder, Jean-Yves Foucault joined his wife on her family farm in Bergonne (Puy-de-Dôme, France) in 1989, which she had been running since 1977, combining sheep rearing and cereal crops. A member of Limagrain since 1989, he held several responsibilities in livestock breeding before joining the Cooperative Board in 2000.

In 2003, he became Chairman of the Limagrain Bakery Products and Cereal Ingredients Divisions. In 2009, he was elected First Vice Chairman of the Cooperative. In 2011, he succeeded Pierre Pagesse to become Chairman.

 The Bureau analyzes the strategic choices and the major files for the Cooperative and the Group.

Active, committed Board Members

  • The Board meets twice per month:
    once to discuss local issues, and once for international topics.
  • All the Board Members followed training in 2014
    on prospective subjects (the collaborative world and social networks), legal questions (company law, delegation of authority), finance (obligations of listed companies and governance models), international affairs (geographic changes in the world), research (molecular marking and the link with Big Data), African culture and personal development.

Since 2010, when Bpifrance* entered its capital stock, Groupe Limagrain Holding’s Board has had two external Directors:

  • José Gonzalo has been a Board Member of Groupe Limagrain Holding since 2014. Today he is a member of the Mid & Large Cap (MLC) Executive Committee and co-manager of the Bpifrance ETI 2020 fund.
  • Mary Dupont-Madinier, Board Member since 2014, is also Board Member of Vilmorin & Cie.  She is a Partner with VALTUS based in Paris,  leader in interim executive management.  She is also Board Member of IPSOS SA  since 2013 as well as Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce in France (AmCham) since 2015. 

    *Bpifrance, whose two shareholders with equal shareholding are the State and the Caisse des Dépôts (French bank for official deposits), acts in support of State and Regional public policies, and, most notably, takes a minority stake in companies that are strategic in terms of the national economy, the region or employment.
