Limagrain's research is organized around approximately one hundred centers spread out over the world, and on breeding programs covering the main crops worked on by the Group. The challenge is crucial in terms of agronomic yield. Future progress in genetics will enable us to rise the challenges agricultural production to meet the needs of nine billion inhabitants in 2050.

Limagrain's research works on eight main field seeds species: corn, wheat, barley, rapeseed, sunflower, pea, durum wheat and flax. In vegetable seeds, the Group covers about thirty species: tomato (market for fresh products), cucumber, onion, sweet pepper, melon, carrot, watermelon, lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower, hot red pepper, bean, sweet corn, tomato (industrial), squash, broccoli, eggplant, European radish, chive, Daikon radish, etc.
