The campaign for European sales of rapeseed for 2010/2011 was marked by the surge in the Group's new hybrid varieties. They now represent almost a quarter of total sales, compared with less than 10% for the previous campaign. The Artoga variety, which is mainly registered in the French and German catalogues, with the best performance indices in the two countries, is a perfect illustration of this evolution. Once again this year, the variety has demonstrated extremely regular performances, along with excellent tolerance to disease, low stem elongation before the winter, good resistance to the cold, excellent resistances to lodging and pod shattering at maturity and a high yield potential.
Endowed with all these assets to succeed in this crop, the variety Artoga has developed on all the main European markets for winter rape this year: in France under the brand name Advanta®, but also in Germany, Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Hungary and Bulgaria under the LG brand name. This success was matched in France by the rapid development of another promising hybrid variety, Albatros, combining a high disease resistance profile (very low sensitivity to phoma in the CETIOM* classification) and good oil content, a quality which customers require more and more.

* CETIOM is a technical institute for research and development at the service of French oilseed production
