Crenoline, the witloof queen

In 2010, Vilmorin became leader on the French market for witloof, also known as Belgian endive or chicory. To a large extent this success is due to the variety Crenoline. Today, Crenoline has 26% market share in France and has won over growers because of its numerous assets. Seed production can be very difficult for this crop. Crenoline seeds are appreciated for their high quality (film coated, mini-pelleted and activated). The variety is extremely vigorous in the field, and gives a high yield. It is very flexible when it comes to forcing with sustained production. The next generation is already on its way. Vilmorin's research experts for this crop should soon be presenting several novelties.
