Altigo, technological feat
Altigo meets the requirements of cereal producers who are looking for a variety with very high yields and easy to grow. Usually, choosing a wheat variety is a compromise between several different technical criteria. Altigo has achieved the masterly stroke of combining in a single variety all the important criteria to help cereal producers succeed with their wheat. Developed from “100% Limagrain” genitors, Altigo represents the culmination of 25 years of genetic research at Nickerson in France. With its bearded ears, this multi-soil variety has a very high yield obtained through a combination of high ear density and the highest thousand kernels weight on the market, without penalizing its protein content. A “bonus” for Altigo is its resistance to wheat midge, a tiny insect that can cause considerable losses to harvests. Finally, Altigo is the result of international co-operation with all of Limagrain's wheat research teams.
