Germplasm and pre-breeding play a strategic role in the sense that access to genetic variability is getting more and more limited. Techniques such as molecular marking and doubled haploids have become day-to-day realities used to accelerate precise breeding. And so we need to invent tools and adapt methods to optimize their use, so that breeders can obtain a new variety that meets the needs of farmers."
