Entre el 1 de julio de 2010 y el 30 de junio de 2011, Limagrain logró un importante incremento en las ventas y en la renta neta de acuerdo a sus expectativas. El ejercicio transcurrió dentro de un contexto favorable, con un aumento de las superficies cultivadas, a pesar de la persistente volatilidad de los precios de las materias primas agrícolas. Todas las divisiones mostraron resultados financieros positivos.

En la Junta General anual de la Cooperativa del jueves 15 de diciembre, los miembros de la Junta votaron a su nuevo presidente. Pierre Pagesse, presidente de Limagrain desde 1992 dejó el mando a Jean-Yves Foucault, hasta entonces primer vicepresidente de la cooperativa desde 2009.

La Internacional Seed Federation publicó otro video (en inglés) llamado “la agricultura está bajo presión”. El video señala que la selección vegetal y la industria de las semillas son actores importantes para enfrentar los desafíos de nuestro planeta, como son la sobrepoblación, el cambio de hábitos alimentarios, el cambio climático, así como la escasez de combustibles y agua.

En la prolongación de su comunicado publicado el viernes 20 de mayo de 2011, Jacquet SA emitió un proyecto de Oferta Pública de Adquisición simplificada para las acciones restantes de BROSSARD SA a un precio unitario de 8,29 €.

En cumplimiento con el contrato de adquisición de acciones y garantía, firmado el 14 de abril de 2011 entre Groupe Limagrain Holding (GLH) y M. Guy Schumacher junto con varios miembros de su familia, los signatarios concluyeron el acuedo en que GLH es substituido por su filial JACQUET SA.

Limagrain acaba de concluir una alianza estratégica relativo al maíz, a través de su filial Vilmorin & Cie, con el semillista brasileño Sementes Guerra en Curitiba, Brasil. Esta entrada al mercado de semillas de maíz en Brasil es parte de la estrategia de desarrollo internacional del Grupo. Este acuerdo fortalecerá el patrimonio genético de dos partes para crear variedades más eficientes para el beneficio de los agricultores.
