Auvergne, a land of hospitality

The name Limagrain, which is familiar today in the seed business environment, first appeared in 1965.

By changing its name to materialize a historic challenge: creating, producing and distributing early corn seeds adapted to Northern Europe, the “Coopérative de Production et de Vente de Semences Sélectionnées du Massif Central” decided to go down the road of audacity and confidence in progress, to build a better future.

And so, right from the start, Limagrain drew the strength it required from the farmers working on the Limagne plain, whose values it passes on and whose history it is now very much part of.

The investments it makes in its business show just how much it is attached to Auvergne. Limagrain also accompanies regional initiatives such as MiLiVO, a company set up through Michelin and Volvic, so the managers of SMEs can share experiences, and Vulcania, which has become one of the symbols of Auvergne. The Group also strives to promote the wine heritage of the Côtes d’Auvergne through the cave Saint-Verny.
