The opening up of Eastern Europe in the early 1990's, which was consolidated in 2004 by the accession of several countries to the European Union, created new markets for garden products. The first one to be targeted by our Garden Products division was Poland, home of our CNOS Garden subsidiary.

Founded in 1999, CNOS Garden specializes in selling packets of vegetable and flower seeds to gardening enthusiasts in Poland, flower bulbs, lawn seed and natural fertilizer. CNOS Garden relies on two brands : Vilmorin and Vita, and is market leader for packet seed on the Polish market.

Based in Komorniki, near Poznań, the subsidiary also benefits from highly productive industrial plant, well equipped to meet the needs of the Polish market, and those of Eastern Europe more generally. The factory is an exceptional asset for the development and production of innovative garden products such as vegetable, flower and lawn seed, bulbs and fertilizers. CNOS Garden strength lies in its impressive responsiveness on the market, especially in terms of innovation and anticipating customer needs and expectations. The company's ambition is to become a key partner for gardeners.

Poland's cultural and linguistic proximity to neighboring states (Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Baltic States), combined with the industrial capacity of CNOS Garden, makes this structure a highly efficient bridgehead from which to develop the Garden Products Division's strategy in Northern and Eastern European countries. What's more, the complementary relationship between the industrial strengths and knowhow of the different subsidiaries in the division, CNOS Garden, Van den Berg and Oxadis allows the Business Unit to offer a global response to the modern-day distribution needs of Eastern Europe, which itself is increasingly international, consolidating and building its position as market leader in Eastern Europe.
