Ever since the creation of the Co-operative, Field Seeds have always been very much part of Limagrain's historical core business. The activity is organized according to the main markets. Limagrain Europe, created in 2003, holds leading positions in Europe. In North America, AgReliant Genetics, a joint venture created in 2000 with the German seeds company KWS, holds 4th position on the corn seed market for the United States. Limagrain Asia is particularly interested in the markets of China and India, and Limagrain South America has dedicated markets too. Finally, Limagrain Cereal Seeds, from its base in North America, is developing Limagrain's wheat strategy outside Europe.
With sales of 595 million Euros for the fiscal year, the Field Seeds Division represents 38% of the Group's business. Its growth of 14% confirms the quality of its germplasm, the wisdom of a multi-species approach deployed worldwide and the efficiency of the Group's commercial presence close to its markets. The sustained high level of prices for agricultural produce throughout the duration of the fiscal year enabled farmers to choose seeds from varieties with the best performances.
